Programs that change lives.
Bank Street has a record of creating positive change for children and families in historically underserved communities. Whether in the East Village, Harlem, or the Bronx, these programs foster real relationships between educators, children, and families, and provide safe and meaningful spaces for individuals' needs to be respected and heard.
Each year, Bank Street Head Start serves 68 three- and four-year-old children from low-income families through a quality, free, full-day program that meets their cognitive, social, emotional, health, nutritional, and psychological needs.
Liberty LEADS empowers teens from underserved communities to take ownership of their education by providing them with the supports and resources they need in order to realize their potential, positively contribute to society, and transition successfully from high school to college.
Bank Street partnered with BronxWorks to create the Early Childhood Urban Education Initiative, giving educators access to a three-year master’s degree program. Students commit to serving children and families from under-resourced communities in the Bronx after graduation.
